The system is a rotating brush that moves horizontally and vertically. It automatically travels up and down a rail, with the option to program a personal massage and using a remote control.
Battery operated, the brush rotation is powered by a maxon DC motor, A-max 32, combined with a planetary gearhead, GP32. For the system’s height adjustment, there is a brushed DC motor, DCX 22S, fitted to a GPX 22 planetary gearhead. The DCX combination motor and gearhead can be assembled online using maxon’s online configuration portal.

maxon have released two new brushed DC micro motors available in 6mm and 8mm diameter as part of their DCX range. The DC motors have a robust design with maximum power density from the high-performance neodymium magnets.
Also available are matching gearheads, the planetary gearhead 6mm and planetary gearhead 8mm, as well as two motor controllers, the ENX 6/8 OPT (optical) and ENX 6/8 MAG (magnetic). The matching planetary gearheads are welded directly to the motor and offer reduction ratios of up to 1000:1. Both are able to transmit short-term torques of 60 and 150 mNm respectively. The motor encoders are available in two versions for each diameter and work with voltages as low as 3V, therefore making them highly suitable for medical devices. The encoders come in a magnetic version and for magnetically sensitive applications, the optical encoder is available.
